Clay Pottery Performance Task
This performance task is part of the Smarter Balanced Practice Test. The task stimulus introduces two characters who are interested in making pottery, and provides a chart showing how much clay is needed to make different items. Students are required to reason about how much clay is needed to make different combinations of items. There are five items in the task. The task is designed to support students in building directly on their reasoning from earlier items of the task in order to complete later items of the task, and there is an example of a scoring dependency in this task.
